BREAKING: AU STUDENT GOVERNMENT SECRETARY RESIGNS

Faith Rokowski, who was sworn in as American University Student Government secretary on April 24, has resigned her position, effective Sept. 1.

According to an email sent by AU Student Government President Devontae Torriente on the evening of Aug. 7, Rokowski resigned “based on her personal wellbeing [sic].”

Later in the same email, language used by Torriente, such as “The entire Executive Board wholeheartedly supports her decision” seemed strange according to multiple anonymous sources.

Torriente also acknowledged that according to Article II, Section IV of the AU Student Government Constitution, “In the event that the Secretary is no longer able to serve in his/her capacity, either by design or removal of office, the President, with the advice and consent of the Undergraduate Senate, shall appoint a Secretary.”
